Highland Christian School was founded in 1968 with a few simple goals...
- To provide a beginning learning experience in a Christian environment where each child is loved, respected and valued for his/her uniqueness.
- To guide each child to maximum learning from everyday situations and experiences.
- To give each child the satisfaction of success and accomplishment at his or her own speed and level of attainment, thus encouraging him/her to go on to the next learning challenge.
- To instill in each child a love of God, an allegiance to country, and respect for all other people.
- To aid individual children in difficult areas of speech, behavior, and understanding.
- To lay a strong foundation for later learning -- reading readiness, number concepts, awareness of likes and differences, motor skills, rhythm, melody, listening and following directions.
- To help the child in the formation of appropriate socialization skills with their peers.
- To acquaint children with the proper use and care of preschool equipment while permitting them to utilize it in their own creative ways.
